Catherine Goodwin

After five years practicing as a barrister and solicitor in New Zealand and the United Kingdom, Catherine Goodwin commenced her career in real estate in 2005. In 2008 she successfully completed her graduate study at the University of Massey (Albany Campus) to achieve status of Associate to the Real Estate Institute of New Zealand. As a Licensee Agent, Catherine holds the highest of New Zealand’s three classes of licence.

Acting as in-house legal counsel to London’s largest local authority social landlord, the London Borough of Southwark, Catherine has ‘walked-the-walk’. This has given her the ability to understand all aspects of property management and rentals, housing repairs and long-term maintenance plans.

Electing to operate ‘at the coal-face’ upon her return to Auckland, Catherine managed a large portfolio in the west of Auckland before commencing her transition to management.

As CEO of Goodwins, Catherine stands alongside her father Ashley Goodwin in his commitment to safeguard client’s investments, while further developing his commitment to provide the company’s clientele a superlative level of professional service.

Brendan Goodwin

Brendan practised for seven years as a Commercial Property Solicitor in New Zealand, Australia and the United Kingdom, he then commenced his real estate career in Melbourne, Australia in 2014.

Having worked as a Sales and Leasing Agent for the Commercial Real Estate Agency Allard Shelton, Brendan has an in-depth understanding of commercial property management, the purchase and sale of commercial property as well as marketing and leasing office, retail and industrial premises.

Aleina Goodwin

In 2006 Aleina began her Real Estate career working with a prominent Melbourne commercial venue management company. During this time Aleina built her knowledge in managing, marketing, facilities maintenance and accounting practices relating to property.

In 2013 she became Managing Director of her family’s residential and commercial real estate agency. In this position the agency experienced unprecedented growth.

Her extensive knowledge of the property industry has proven to be an asset to both Goodwins and its clients since joining.

Christine Ryan

“It’s my job to take away all the hassle and achieve the highest occupancy rates possible.”

Many hundreds of landlords have been able to sit back and relax in the knowledge that their property is in safe hands with Christine.

Previously employed as a property photographer with the well-established open2view, Christine brings extensive marketing knowledge to her advertising campaigns. Before this role, Christine honed her knowledge of property as a residential selling agent for six years.

Outside of the office, you will find Christine enjoying time with her family and friends. Entertaining is her forte!

James Phelan

With an extensive background in advertising and marketing consultancy, James brings Goodwins a wealth of knowledge that not only supports our companies objectives, but also help our clients to achieve the best possible results.

Prior to his joining our team, James spent a number of years working in the fast-paced world of advertising in both London and Melbourne where he helped build / worked on some well-known brands including Gordon Ramsay Group, Sanctuary Cove, Australand Property (now Frasers), British Pharmalogical Society among others.

Upon his return home to New Zealand, James set up his own advertising agency which saw him provide a range of services for a variety of clients, Goodwins included.
As part of that work, he was responsible for the creation and delivery of our new-look brand and marketing platform, including this very website.

The passion he developed for that work, coupled with a desire to specialise in property and to be on the front line helping clients, made it an easy decision for James to transition into a full-time sales & marketing role with Goodwins.

And when he’s not at work? You will likely find James out on a golf course trying to improve his handicap.

Richard Lambeth

Richard returned to Auckland in late 2020 having worked in London after a successful career as a Residential Sales and Letting agent. With a varied background in sales and the arts, he prides himself on his communication skills, providing excellent customer service for both his tenants and property owners.

Philip Somerville

With a background in law enforcement, Logistics and real estate sales, Philip joined Goodwins in 2001 as a Property Manager. After gaining extensive experience in all facets of property management, Philip took a new role, in 2012, as the Senior Property Manager, Training and Development, supervising the Property Management team and working closely with the General Manager, in staff training, mediation work and Health & Safety.

After a brief retirement in 2017-2018, Philip has taken a new role with Goodwins, as Client Services Manager, working out of the Mt Albert Office. This role will see Philip developing relationships with new and existing clients, promoting seminars and overseeing a survey programme developed to bring excellence to our property management services.

Philip enjoys walking in his home suburb of Titirangi, and enjoyed extensive travel time in France, Italy and Greece, during his brief retirement.

Denise Boyes

Denise Boyes has consolidated a trusted reputation in the real estate industry notching up 16 years’ experience across different markets and variable economic climates. Regardless of the natural ebbs and flows of Property Cycles, Denise has emerged as a respected and knowledgeable professional who has always placed her clients at the forefront of her working philosophy.

Denise’s is a dedicated role to developing the rental portfolio at Goodwins. And, Denise most enjoys the opportunity to explain to new prospects just what our Team can offer, whether you are a current landlord, or, thinking of becoming one!
